Dear One World Conservation and Free Lucky supporters,
As you are probably aware, Judge Xavier Rodriguez of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas denied the San Antonio Zoo’s motion to dismiss the Endangered Species Lawsuit (ESA) for Lucky. This is a huge step in the right direction for the lawsuit, and we have been over the moon since receiving the news several days ago.
What this means is that the lawsuit is moving into the next phase of litigation, discovery, which allows attorneys on Lucky’s case to obtain information from the zoo such as medical records and any other relevant documents. In short, Lucky’s case is moving ahead!
As always, Lucky’s welfare is our first and foremost priority. She truly has a legal dream team, and we have full confidence in their position moving forward. For more information on the suit, please see the Animal Legal Defense Fund’s press release.
We are continuing to raise funds for the lawsuit on GoFundMe. Please continue to share this far and wide.
May 2016 be Lucky’s year.
